Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most. For the full explanations, see the guides linked at the bottom of the page.
Is LootPick free?
Yes. A free account tracks up to 20 Picks and keeps up to 2 price alerts active. Premium removes those limits and unlocks four alternative score formulas. Browsing deals, historic lows, free games, subscription catalogues and game pages needs no account at all.
Do I need an account to use the website?
No. Deals, historic lows, free and free-to-play games, Game Pass, PS Plus and EA Play lists and every game page are open to everyone. You need an account to keep Picks, set alerts and track your Loot.
What does Buy Now mean?
Every game gets a score from 0 to 100. At 75 or above the label is Buy Now, from 55 to 74 it is Watch It, and below 55 it is Wait. The label is a recommendation about timing, not a guarantee, and you can open any game to see exactly how its score was built.
Why can the same game have different scores?
Your own LootPick Score includes how highly you ranked the game in your Picks. When you are signed out, or the game is not on your Picks, you see the LP Scout Score, which cannot know your priorities and uses public reception and price data instead. They answer different questions, so they can differ.
Where does LootPick get its prices and ratings?
From IGDB, CheapShark, IsThereAnyDeal, OpenCritic, Steam, GamerPower and FreeToGame, plus the official PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and Steam news feeds. Prices change quickly and differ by region, so always confirm the final price at the store before you buy.
Does LootPick sell games?
No. LootPick compares prices and tells you when a game looks worth buying. You buy from the store that offers the price.
Which platforms are covered?
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. In Picks you can filter by platform.
How do price alerts work?
Turn on the alert for a pick and set a target price. The setting is saved to your account, and notifications are delivered by the mobile app. Free accounts keep up to 2 alerts active, Premium has no limit.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, on Google Play for Android. An iOS version is not available yet. It uses the same account as the website, so your Picks and Loot are the same in both.
Can I import my Steam library?
Yes, optionally. If you connect Steam, LootPick reads the parts of your profile that your Steam privacy settings make public. Steam does not share what you paid, so imported games have no price until you add one. Disconnecting stops new reads.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings. Deleting removes your Picks, Loot, alerts, ratings, reviews and profile from LootPick and cannot be undone. Our Privacy Policy lists which third-party records are kept by those providers under their own rules.
Is LootPick affiliated with PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam?
No. LootPick is built by OAK TEK and is not affiliated with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Valve or any other platform holder.
